The name is inspired by Rosa Parks, an afroamerican woman who was a civil rights activist. She is most famous for when she refused to leave her bus seat for a white man in 1955 which the law required her to do. This started the bus boycott in Montgomery, Alabama, which is considered to have been the start of the modern American civil rights movement.
